3 Seminars on Social Business & Innovation in Japan for U.S.A. Student Groups

Over the past few weeks, Social Innovation Japan hosted three interactive sessions on social business, sustainability, and the Japanese business landscape, welcoming university groups from across the U.S. 🇯🇵🇺🇸

We were joined by:

  • University of Southern California - Marshall School of Business

  • Baylor University – Hankamer School of Business

  • The GLO Summer Program, with students from universities across the U.S.

Each seminar explored the role of business as a force for good in Japan, including through case studies like mymizu and concepts like Sanpo Yoshi, as well as unique cultural aspects of Japanese business.

💬 “Robin’s visit was more than just a presentation - it was a powerful reminder of how entrepreneurship, purpose, and innovation can intersect to drive real change.”

💬 “I loved learning how mymizu bridges the gap between nonprofit and for-profit - something we rarely see in traditional business school settings.”

💬 “This session made me think more deeply about the kind of legacy I want to leave through my career.”

💬 “Learning about Japanese sustainability concepts and business practices helped me see how local values can drive global change.”

As global interest in Japan’s social innovation landscape continues to grow, we’re excited to connect more students and changemakers through SIJ’s international programs.
