Social Innovation Japan is excited to announce the “Young Leaders Fellowship” Summer 2023!

The Young Leaders Fellowship is an opportunity for passionate individuals who aspire to make a positive impact on society and cultivate leadership skills. This fellowship program aims to provide opportunities for exceptional high school and university students to gain hands-on experience working in an award-winning social enterprise, while developing their potential and contributing to their communities. As a Fellow, you will be entrusted with responsibilities that will contribute to our organisation’s core impact-driven programs, ultimately helping to drive positive change.


Duration and Commitment

The fellowship requires a minimum commitment of 8 weeks, during which you will dedicate a minimum of 8 hours per week to the program. This time commitment ensures that you have ample opportunity to immerse yourself and fully explore your leadership potential. The fellowship is mainly remote, but we hope to integrate in-person time with team members whenever possible too.

Responsibilities

As a Fellow, you will have the chance to engage in a wide range of meaningful activities and initiatives. We design each fellowship around the individual Fellow’s experience and interests, but your responsibilities may include:

  • Project Implementation: Collaborating with other team members to plan and execute projects that address pressing social and environmental issues. 

  • Supporting Existing Projects: This may involve conducting research, designing materials, creating content or implementing campaigns.

  • Events: Helping to organise or participating in events, as well as attending and sharing at internal and external meetings.

  • Community Engagement: Engaging with local communities, youth organizations, and stakeholders to foster relationships and create positive change. This may involve networking events and community initiatives.

Monthly Stipend

As a Young Leaders Fellow, you will receive a monthly stipend. In addition to this, any necessary expenses that are pre-agreed such as transportation costs will also be covered. This stipend is designed to support your involvement in the program and alleviate any financial pressure that may arise from your commitment to the fellowship.
