Swarthmore College Visit to Tokyo

It was wonderful to welcome students from Swarthmore College visiting Tokyo recently as part of our educational and international collaboration programs!🗼

We gathered at the Circular Lab and kitchen “elab”, a multipurpose space housing a restaurant and workshop focused on #sustainability and supporting local businesses.

elab's CEO Takako, as well as Mariko and Robin from Social Innovation Japan, shared stories and perspectives on social change in Japan, and discussed with the students some of the opportunities and challenges for strengthening social innovation across the country.

It was a great chance to hear the students’ perspectives, as well as learn more about the university’s initiatives - including its on-campus geo-exchange system providing efficient renewable-powered heating and cooling to campus buildings (!) and their trip to the north of Japan 🇯🇵.

Thank you to Professors Denise Crossan, Will Gardner and Umi Keezing for coordinating - we’re looking forward to future collaborations between Swarthmore and Social Innovation Japan 🙏
