EMPOWER
Turn ambition into meaningful change.
Good intentions do not automatically become good outcomes.
People often know the change they want to create, but turning that ambition into something actionable and effective in the real world is much harder.
We work alongside organisations, teams and changemakers to turn ambition into practical ideas, programs, partnerships and initiatives that can drive real change.
From intention to reality.
You might be starting with a challenge, an early idea, or a strategy that is not yet translating into action.
We help clarify the opportunity, strengthen the idea, bring the right people together and turn it into something that can work in the real world.
We bring together strategy, program design, facilitation, partnerships and practical experience to help move ideas forward.
The goal is greater clarity, stronger participation and something with a real chance of creating change.
What that can mean in practice
A clearer opportunity
Understand the problem more deeply, including the people, systems and context around it, and focus effort where you or your organisation can make the greatest difference.
A stronger idea
Develop an ambition into an initiative, business concept or program that responds to real needs and can be tested in practice.
The right people around the table
Build partnerships across sectors, organisations and communities that bring together the capabilities needed to make an idea work.
Movement, not just strategy
Create opportunities for people to participate, experiment and learn, generating real-world insight that can strengthen the next stage of the work.
Change rarely happens through one organisation’s actions alone.
Strong partnerships are more than putting logos alongside each other.
We look for ways to bring together different capabilities, perspectives and resources around a shared challenge, whether that means businesses, communities, public organisations, entrepreneurs or other partners.
The aim is not collaboration for its own sake. It is to create something stronger than any one organisation could build alone.
We know what it feels like to build something that does not have a roadmap.
Through initiatives such as mymizu, we have experienced first-hand what it takes to turn an early idea into something that works in the real world.
That means understanding the problem, testing assumptions, building the right partnerships, adapting when things do not work, and learning through implementation.
It also means knowing that the first answer is rarely the final one, and that progress often depends on bringing different people and perspectives into the process.
We help partners build ideas that can not just survive contact with the real world.
Selected Work
Turning promising ideas into ventures with a stronger chance of succeeding.
Many people begin with a powerful desire and an idea to solve a social problem. Far fewer go on to build a sustainable business around that idea.
Together with Helena Rubinstein / L'Oréal Japan, we created HELENA POWERS to support women taking their first steps into social entrepreneurship.
Participants develop their ideas through research, testing, business-model development, peer learning and expert support, moving from an initial ambition towards something clearer, more credible and ready to take forward.
The impact is not simply learning a methodology. It is helping people leave with greater confidence, stronger ideas and a clearer path towards creating the change they care about.
Turning a sustainability ambition into collective action.
LIXIL wanted to engage employees around sustainability at a time when conventional forms of participation were difficult.
Together, we created a month-long global challenge that turned plastic reduction from an environmental issue into something employees could participate in together.
The initiative combined learning, team activity and measurable action, involving employees, their families and customers.
“The campaign has contributed to bolstering awareness and a mindset shift within the company.” John Short, Leader, Communications & Corporate Responsibility, LIXIL
The value was not only the environmental result. It made sustainability visible, social and participatory, giving thousands of people a practical way to contribute to a wider company ambition.
From challenge to action
Our role changes depending on what the work needs.
We might help you understand a challenge more clearly, develop an idea, bring new partners into the process, design a program or pilot, facilitate collaboration, or support testing and implementation.
Usually, our engagement moves through three broad stages:
Understand what really needs to change
Look beyond the first brief to understand the problem, the people involved and where meaningful opportunity exists.
Shape a response worth testing
Develop the idea, strategy, partnerships and experience needed to create change.
Put it into the real world
Test, learn and adapt based on what actually happens, not only what looked convincing on paper.
You do not need to arrive with a finished brief.
You might have:
a sustainability ambition that is struggling to translate into action
a desire to empower more people in your organisation to create meaningful business innovation
a business or existing program that could create more social value
an idea that needs testing before you invest further
a challenge that requires people outside your organisation
or simply a problem you believe is worth solving
That is often enough to start.
